What is the California Clean Fuel Reward?

The California Clean Fuel Reward was one of the most popular EV incentives, which was designed to make greener driving easier than ever. Qualified drivers from Alhambra to Monterey Park were able to secure rebates up to $7,000. The qualification process for the California Clean Rewards Program was simple:

• The vehicle must have a battery capacity that exceeds 5kWh.
• The vehicle must have been purchased in California.
• The vehicle must be registered in California.

Because the rebate was applied at the dealership, drivers could immediately see how much money they would receive on the loan or lease agreement. The value would be listed under “EV Incentive” or “Rebate/Non-Cash Credits.”

What Happened to the California Clean Fuel Reward?

Many drivers were happy to receive the extra push to switch to electric, resulting in tons of new EV owners and incredible benefits to the environment. But because the California Clean Rewards program was so successful, the program was paused in 2022. However, that doesn’t mean your savings will stop at Camino Real Chevrolet!
